Friends of Crescent garden swept the Awards board again in 2024!

• Golds in Gosport In Bloom for:
"The Mayor's Community and Neighbourhood Group Award"
"Best Public Attraction"
"Best Wildlife Garden"
"Best Bee & Butterfly Garden"

Alverstoke Crescent Garden has celebrated eighteen Green Flag awards, several of which were Gold Awards. The garden has also been nominated as one of the best ten gardens in the country. The Green Flag Award is an international accreditation programme that recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces.
The Garden has received other awards, including an RHS Gold Award for “It’s Your Neighbourhood” - Outstanding Small Park of the Year, a gold award for Gosport in Bloom for Best Volunteer, Community and Neighbourhood Garden, and a gold award in the South and South-East in Bloom competition for small community parks.
There are many misconceptions about “Bloom” the main one being that as the name implies its all about Summer bedding displays, Hanging Baskets and Window Boxes. But that was bloom decades ago. So, while gardening, planting and creating attractive places is an important element, it is now as much about caring for our environment and wishing to see the community and community volunteers becoming involved in caring for their place.
